Downloading Some Fire TV Apps Now Automatically Subscribes You to Their Service

Have you ever downloaded an app just to look at it? Amazon has set it up so downloading select Fire TV apps like Paramount+, Palle TV, Philo, and Starz will automatically start charging you for a subscription through your Amazon account. This all comes from a report by AFTVnews.

According to AFTVnews, you need to be careful because if the service offers a free trial the text about if you are getting billed or not is a bit confusing.

If you want this streaming service, Amazon is making it easy for you to quickly subscribe and start watching. There are no longer a bunch of steps to go through to subscribe. Now, with a few simple clicks, you are subscribed and ready to watch Paramount+, for example.

It is unknown how many apps use this service, but Amazon seems to be working hard to help people manage subscriptions through Amazon’s payment system, helping Amazon get a cut of the revenue.
