Hasbro has officially announced brand-new Star Wars: The Vintage Collection action figures of Star Wars Sith Lord Darth Vader and the Imperial stormtroopers. Among all the Star Wars TV shows and movies, these figures represent two of the most iconic symbols in the franchise. Both are designed based on their appearance in A New Hope, which was the debut of Darth Vader and the Imperial stormtroopers and one of Star Wars’ best movies.

Darth Vader’s true identity was a closely-guarded secret during Palpatine’s reign – but there’s still a few characters confirmed to know it.
Both figures go on sale on March 14th at 1 PM ET and are part of Lucasfilm’s month-long product unveiling featuring new clothing, toys, action figures, collectibles, and more, with a particular focus on the villains of the Star Wars galaxy. Darth Vader, no doubt one of the greatest villains in Star Wars, is depicted in his iconic helmet, life-sustaining suit, and cape, holding his classic red lightsaber or using the Force with his hands.

Darth Vader truly is one of Star Wars’ greatest villains. After being introduced in A New Hope as the faceless, deep-breathing evil Sith Lord willing to wipe out entire planets with no remorse, the prequel trilogy made him even more fearsome. Rather than Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace depicting a villainous Darth Vader already drawn to the dark side, the movie showed the innocent young boy Anakin Skywalker.
With this backstory, Star Wars only made Vader’s character arc stronger, reflecting that the power of the dark side is so great that even the most innocent can fall. From there, Anakin only descends further into the evil he would inevitably become.
