Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and shared some shocking details about the last time she spoke to her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval. Ariana, who has been thriving after splitting from her nearly 10-year-long partner, has been living in New York City during her run as Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Chicago, which gives her more access to the WWHL clubhouse. During an appearance where she discussed as much as she could in terms of Vanderpump Rules and her current relationships with Tom and Scheana Shay, Ariana wasn’t afraid to hold back her true feelings.

After Watch What Happens Live host Andy asked, “When was the last time that you and Sandoval had a face-to-face conversation?” Ariana took a moment to think before giving a shocking answer. Ariana shared that she’d last had a conversation with Tom at “the [Vanderpump Rules season 10] reunion,” to a slack-jawed Andy. Explaining, Ariana added, “I mean, as opposed to like, maybe during filming there was maybe like, one or two sentences in each other’s directions, but yeah.”

Ariana had previously explained that she “went no contact with him for very good reasons,” after being asked if she regretted putting Tom’s former assistant, Ann, in the middle of herself and her ex partner.

Vanderpump Rules is a reality-drama series created for Bravo that stars Lisa Vanderpump, a former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as she expands her restaurant empire and staff. The cast consists of Lisa’s staff members across her various establishments in West Hollywood as they try to build their futures and establish relationships that range from friendly to romantic. All of which frequently turn messy as mixing with business pleasure, as they are warned, doesn’t always end well.

One of the major storylines of Vanderpump Rules season 11 has revolved around Ariana’s relationship with Scheana, her long-time best friend. Scheana’s been upset that she feels like she’s unable to speak to or about Tom. “During the time of filming, I definitely was not aware of a lot of the things that were being said behind my back,” Ariana explained. “I love Scheana dearly, but a lot of the things I’ve heard her say were hurtful. Specifically, it’s hard to pinpoint something, it’s just kind of this general attitude towards me that I’ve been seeing that was very hurtful.”

Throughout Vanderpump Rules season 11, Scheana has expressed big emotions about not being able to grieve her friendship with Tom, sharing that Ariana’s had the monopoly on pain. While Scheana has known Tom for years, she’s explained that she’s obviously on Team Ariana when it comes to the fallout from Scandoval, but ignoring Tom has been tough. Scheana has shared that she doesn’t want to isolate someone who has been such a big part of her life, but Ariana has been hurt that she’s prioritized trying to play peacemaker over one of the most important friendships of her life.

With Vanderpump Rules season 11’s shocking mid-season trailer teasing even more drama for the former SURvers, Ariana and Scheana’s conflict surely isn’t finished yet. Though Scheana has been doing her best to be supportive despite her difficult feelings surrounding Tom and Ariana’s split, she’s been having a hard time feeling like she can grieve without taking away from Ariana. The resentment Scheana has built up for her long-time friend has been tough to watch, and has clearly made the Vanderpump Rules star uncomfortable with someone she’s known for years.
