The announcement of the Chronicled Wish banner in Genshin Impact 4.5 allows players to obtain several old characters and weapons that have not been available in the game for quite a while, even though much of the loot pool is composed of items obtainable randomly through the standard banner. The Chronicled Wish can be considered a third type of limited-time banner added to the game with Version 4.5 in an attempt to circumvent the long absence of certain heroes from their dedicated banners. It had initially been leaked as a new pulling system in Genshin Impact 4.5.

The leaks about Chronicled Wish were then confirmed by HoYoverse, as the developer announced this third banner during the Version 4.5 livestream, ahead of the update’s release. Chronicled Wish will serve as a means to obtain certain characters and weapons that have been away from the banner spotlight for quite some time, such as Albedo, who has not been featured in a limited banner of his own for nearly two years. This will allow players to try and pull for heroes and weapons they long desire. Chronicled Wish’s loot pool in Genshin Impact is expected to change with every patch.

There are some special rules for what characters and weapons appear in Chronicled Wish, however. According to the official blog post on the Genshin Impact website, players will have to mark their desired 5-star character or weapon before pulling it as a “Designated Item. If players mark a character, any 5-star pull they make will be a character – if they mark a weapon, their 5-star pulls will be weapons. If they fail and do not obtain the Designated Item on their first 5-star pull, they receive a Fate Point, which ensures their next 5-star pull is the desired item.

Hard pity for Chronicled Wish is set at 90 wishes
, which means that unlucky players who exhaust their pity may have to make 180 pulls before getting what they want. Fate Points do not carry over and will reset with every new patch.

All 5-Star Characters In Genshin Impact 4.5’s Chronicled Wish

In total, there are six different 5-star characters featured in the loot pool for Chronicled Wish during Version 4.5. The characters are a mix of limited-time heroes who have not appeared in limited character banners for quite some time, like Albedo and Eula, as well as some heroes from the standard loot pool who have never been featured in individual limited-time banners, such as Mona and Diluc.

The table below lists all six characters in Genshin Impact 4.5’s Chronicled Wish, detailing their Vision, weapon type, and the last time they appeared in limited banners:

The character who has been absent for the longest time from limited-time banners is Albedo. The 5-star Geo support unit has not appeared since October 2022 and is on his way to a two-year absence. Initially, there were rumors about him appearing in the Version 4.5 banners, but those have since been debunked with the announcement of Arataki Itto taking his place to accompany Chiori in Genshin Impact 4.5’s Phase 1 banners. Neuvillette and Kazuha will star in the Phase 2 banners, making Albedo’s presence in the patch limited to the new Chronicled Wish banner.

The broadsword has not appeared in banners since February 2021, though it has been obtainable as it is a part of the standard loot pool. The 5-star weapon that has been completely unobtainable for the longest time, however, is Hunter’s Path, Tighnari’s signature bow that only appeared when he debuted with the release of Sumeru in Genshin Impact, back in August 2022.

What’s Worth Pulling For In Genshin Impact’s Chronicled Wish Banner

Genshin Impact's Albedo looks serious with a yellow backlight.

Depending on the player’s needs, wants, and Primogem availability, it may be worth putting some pulls into the Chronicled Wish banner. Players who have been waiting for an Albedo rerun to finally obtain the Geo support character or increase his Constellation level should take a chance with the banner. Those who are looking to obtain a character’s signature weapon, like Eula’s Song of Broken Pines, could also take a shot at the Chronicled Wish in Genshin Impact 4.5.

Genshin Impact 4.6’s New Area May Fix One Problem, But Leave Another

According to Version 4.6 leaks, Genshin Impact may receive a new and highly expected area that may address a problem, but leave another unresolved.

It is important to note, however, that players looking to obtain characters and weapons that are available in the standard loot pool, like Diluc, Jean, and the Skyward weapon series, for instance, should not waste their Primogems. These all have a chance of coming from any banner, so it is best to not waste pity on them. It is also important to remember that while trying to pull limited characters here, players may pull a standard 5-star item and will have to invest extra Primogems in Genshin Impact to make good use of the Fate Point before it expires.
