All Manuscript Locations In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Manuscripts are collectibles in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that reward 10 SP each. SP helps you improve your weapons and skills. There are 112 manuscripts throughout the game, and you can get up to 1120 SP. However, these manuscripts are not all available in your first run-through and require some dedication.

About half of all the manuscripts in FF7 Rebirth can be collected on your first playthrough on easy or normal difficulty. These manuscripts are connected to side quests, Moogle Emporiums, and Combat Simulator Challenges. The majority of manuscripts, however, areonly unlocked in hard mode. These appear after defeating bosses in a second playthrough.

All Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 Manuscripts

The first two chapters of FF7 Rebirth are relatively light on manuscripts but provide useful early SP for Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Red XIII, and Barret. These chapters introduce the Moogle Emporiums, which offer two manuscripts for each rank. In hard mode, you can get manuscripts from main story bosses like Materia Guardian and Midgardsormr.

All Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 Manuscripts

Chapters 3 and 4 feature some recurring bosses that plague Cloud and his friends throughout the game: Rude, Elena, and Roche. While these chapters don’t have many easy/normal difficulty manuscripts to collect, there are plenty of bosses to beat in hard mode. Half of them are connected to the main story, four are part of side quests, and one, the Mindflayer, is a Classified Intel boss.

All Manuscripts In Chapters 5, 6, & 7

These chapters include a pit stop at the wonderful beach getaway of Costa del Sol, where Cloud can pick out swimsuits for himself and his lady love. This portion of FF7 Rebirth also allows players to collect their first manuscripts for Yuffie. When you aren’t enjoying the beach or examining the wares at the local Moogle Emporium, you can beat up some bosses like the Gigatrice and Custom Valkyrie.

All Chapter 8 Manuscripts

Chapter 8 marks your first significant visit to the Gold Saucer, a playground of fun featured in various Final Fantasy games. Multiple GP Exchanges are located in the area’s different squares, each offering a manuscript for all the available party members. You can also get some manuscripts from Musclehead Colosseum, although this location is more important in Chapter 12.

All Chapter 9 Manuscripts

Chapter 9 is when Cait Sith join the party in FF7 Rebirth, meaning you can finally collect his manuscripts, Fortunes Untold. This chapter features two different Moogle Emporiums for four different manuscripts and another GP Exchange where you can grab your first Cait Sith manuscript. This chapter also has a lot of bosses that drop manuscripts in hard mode, including Tonberry King, Specimen H1024, and Great Malboro.

All Chapter 10 Manuscripts

Chapter 10 features the exciting “Bonds of Trust” side quest where you tame Aponi, the Cosmo Canyon Chocobo. The chapter offers an even balance of easy/normal mode manuscripts and hard mode boss battle manuscripts from various side quests. This is a heavy chapter for Red XIII manuscripts, so if you’re a big fan of his playstyle, make sure to beat all the bosses and complete all the quests that reward Tale of the Red Warrior manuscripts.

All Chapter 11 Manuscripts

Chapter 11 in FF7 Rebirth‘s hard mode is perfect for collecting manuscripts from main story bosses, including Diabolic Variant, Forgotten Specimen, and Roche. However, the chapter is light on easy/normal mode manuscripts. This is the last chapter to feature Moogle Emporium manuscripts and offers only one side quest for manuscripts: “My White-Haired Angel.”

All Chapter 12 Manuscripts

Chapter 12 has more manuscripts than any other chapter. It takes you back to the Gold Saucer, where, depending on your choices in previous chapters, you may romance Aerith or Tifa in FF7 Rebirth. You can win more battles at Musclehead Colosseum and complete side quests for your party. You also have a wide selection of bosses to fight in hard mode, including another run-in with Rude and Elena.

All Chapter 13 & Chapter 14 Manuscripts

Chapter 13 features the exciting Combat Simulator, which offers difficult boss battles against some of the hardest bosses in the game. All the boss battles in these last two chapters are part of the main story, allowing for easy late-game advancement. Only two manuscripts are available in Chapter 14: one from the Jenova Lifeclinger battle and another from the Sephiroth Reborn fight. Beat these two bosses, and you’ll have every manuscript in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
