In 2023, Ridley Scott released his new movie based on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte in partnership with Apple. However, as a theatrical-first release, it didn’t hit the Apple TV+ streaming service until March 1, 2024, just over three months after its release. The movie stars Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon and depicts the French emperor’s rise to power and also has a focus on the relationship with his wife, Josephine, played in the movie by Vanessa Kirby. The movie received mixed reviews upon its release.

with three nominations.

One of the biggest problems that critics have is the historical inaccuracies. However, when watched as a historical biopic for entertainment purposes, it is a giant epic movie that Scott shoots beautifully. The Oscars recognized Napoleon with three nominations, all for its look – Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Visual Effects.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin

March 1, 2024

Dick Turpin in Horrible Histories

While movies like Napoleon were dismissed for historical inaccuracies, The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin wears that like a badge of honor in its title. Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd) stars as the protagonist, a highway robber who leads his band of lovable outlaws. In the meantime, the government wants to bring him down by any means necessary. Their main man is the “thief-taker” Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).

The entire movie takes the historical situation lightly with an irreverent comedy retelling of the 18th-century highway robber – a man who rejects violence and prefers to use showmanship and charm to pull off his heists while becoming more and more popular along the way. The series is made up of six episodes, premiering on March 1 and ending on March 29.

The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy – Season 2

It was a quick success and resulted in a renewal for a second season, which will contain seven episodes as Levy sets off for a grand tour across Europe, starting in the northern part of the continent and moving south.

This is, above all, a travelog with the humor of Eugene Levy at the forefront. Levy will find hidden gems, discover his family tree, and experiment with food from different countries. Included in this season are trips to Sweden for Midsummer, Scotland to visit his mother’s homeland, dinging with a luminary in Saint-Tropez, and much more. The second season starts on March 8.

Tom Brady of the New England Patriots

Helmed by Tiger director Matthew Hamachek, the documentary shows the rise of the Patriots in the NFL, from Tom Brady’s arrival to the team to its 20-year run with multiple Super Bowl appearances and several championship wins. The documentary is a 10-part series, and it appears that it will look at everything about the Patriots dynasty, from the good to the very bad.

This includes controversies like “Deflate-Gate” as well as the murder trial and conviction of star tight end Aaron Hernandez. It also looks like it will delve into whether this was Bill Belichick’s team or if it was Tom Brady who truly led them to multiple championships. Based on the bestselling book by Jeff Benedict, the documentary talks to everyone from Belichick and Brady to owner Robert Kraft and several players from throughout the years.
