The Disney+ exclusive The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) film seemed to have the greatest chance to restore one great song cut from the theatrical movie, but it’s now all but guaranteed to still be absent. While still embarking on her record-breaking world tour, Taylor Swift released a filmed version of her 2023 Los Angeles concert dates in theaters on October 13. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie quickly smashed box office records to become the highest-grossing concert film of all time, with the experience then moving to VOD and soon streaming exclusively on Disney+.

The trailer for The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) confirms that the film will hit Disney+ on March 14, 2024, a little over a month before the release of Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department. It was previously revealed that five undisclosed songs cut from the theatrical version of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour would now be included in the Disney+ version of the movie, with the trailer for the streaming iteration now giving further clues as to which tracks those will be. However, one clarifying detail about the Disney+ movie’s bonus songs disappointingly means that one of Swift’s most beloved collaborations still won’t be featured.

“No Body, No Crime” Will Still Be Missing From The Eras Tour Movie (Taylor’s Version)

The theatrical version of The Eras Tour movie cut seven songs from the main setlist of her LA shows: “cardigan,” “no body, no crime,” “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” “’Tis the Damn Season,” “Seven (Interlude),” and “Long Live.” After it was already confirmed that “cardigan” from Swift’s album evermore would be one of the Disney+ Eras Tour movie’s five bonus songs, the Disney+ trailer revealed that the four remaining tracks would be acoustic. Consequently, the remaining “bonus songs” won’t include the six other tracks cut from her main setlist, but rather the missing acoustic sets specific to her LA dates.

As such, her song “no body, no crime,” which she performed alongside HAIM (who also opened for her) at the LA dates will still be missing from the movie. The trailer later verified that “Maroon” from Midnights would be one of the four acoustic songs included on the streaming version, leaving only three slots available out of those not in the theatrical film. Unless Swift features a surprise song performance from outside her LA dates on the Disney+ version, it seems the three options for the remaining bonus songs are “I Can See You,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” and “You Are in Love.”

Each show on The Eras Tour includes an acoustic set toward the end of the concert that features Swift performing two “surprise songs” on piano and guitar. The surprise songs from her filmed LA dates were “Our Song,” “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” “Maroon,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “I Can See You,” and “You Are in Love.”

Why Was Taylor Swift & HAIM’s “No Body, No Crime” Cut From The Eras Tour Movie?

Considering Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour concerts ran approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, it makes sense that the filmed version cut a few performances for brevity in theaters. However, streaming and VOD versions shouldn’t have the same problem given the ability to pause the movie and pick up again later, so the runtime could be the same as her actual concert. Still, the movie ultimately left out some songs from her main setlist, seemingly to prioritize the songs that provided the most intimate and unique concert experiences with her fans – namely, the acoustic sets, during which she also spoke more to the audience.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is coming to Disney+, and the experience of watching the concert movie on streaming will be different than in theaters.

Though “no body, no crime” is a popular song with Swift’s fanbase, the fact that it features HAIM and the group came on stage to sing it with her seems to have complicated its inclusion. With Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie being emphasized as a more intimate experience between herself and her fans, it makes sense that she would avoid including another performer. Additionally, she may have wanted to avoid potential problems stemming from only including one of her many tour openers and not the others, even though HAIM joins her for “no body, no crime” during Swift’s evermore “era.”

Why The Eras Tour Movie (Taylor’s Version) Should Have Included “No Body, No Crime”

“No body, no crime” was one of Swift’s most popular songs from her evermore album, and she even had the band she recorded it with touring alongside her, which makes its absence from the Disney+ movie all the more surprising. Furthermore, it was uniquely included in the main setlist for the Seattle, Santa Clara, and Los Angeles tour dates in which HAIM opened for her, replacing “‘Tis the Damn Season.” As such, there were only nine occasions on her tour in which audiences were able to see her perform “no body, no crime,” not to mention alongside HAIM’s Alana, Danielle, and Este Haim.

With The Eras Tour being the first occasion on which Swift has performed “no body, no crime” live on stage, the rarity of such an event means it should have been included in the movie, thus allowing her fans who couldn’t make those tour dates to see it. It’s unlikely that HAIM will tour with Taylor Swift or that Swift will join HAIM onstage to sing the tune anytime soon, so its removal from The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) is all the more disappointing. Though videos of the song have been shared by concertgoers, it would have been more fulfilling to see the full cinematic performance with high-quality sound and close-up visuals.
