People have been playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for over a decade at this point, but in all that time, it’s doubtful they’ve reached a character Level of 1337. The Elder Scrolls series has been a massive success story for Bethesda since the first game released in 1994. That success extends to the fifth installment in the main franchise, which remains incredibly popular with players.

In a video shared on YouTube, user pawelos4 RPG2 reveals an impressive high for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The player breaks down exactly how they achieved Level 1337 without any additional assistance from Skyrim‘s mods or cheats.

The process required over 43 hours of grinding the Illusion skill, specifically casting the spell Harmony on the residents of Whiterun on repeat with the help of a few items designed to reduce mana cost. “This whole process was split into around 80 play sessions,” pawelos4 wrote on Nexus Mods.

There’s a ton one can do in Skyrim, but one very smart set of choices lets them live in the lap of luxury in Skyrim’s most famous town.

Creating the Ultimate Skyrim Character Takes Time

One session for me was usually one 9am to 5pm (in game) period (in these hours there are the most npc’s in the streets) which conveniently lasted around 30 real world minutes,” pawelos4 continued. According to the player, the entire process spanned eight months, although they admitted that they didn’t actually play Skyrim every day, taking breaks when they needed. Only once did pawelos4 extend past 30 real-world minutes with a triple session of 90 minutes.

Their so-called “ultimate Skyrim character” has completed everything that can be done in the game. That includes all possible quests and battles, and the character boasts a maxed-out skill tree and an inventory stuffed with every single item, both quest and common. At Level 1337, they have enough HP to survive any fall in the game, no matter the height, and can effectively kill every enemy with a single hit of their weapon.

Skyrim Is the Game That Keeps on Giving

Skyrim may have been released all the way back in 2011, but the game has been re-released on several occasions to the extent that many fans have taken to mocking the various Skyrim versions, the most recent of which, the Anniversary Edition, launched in 2021. This iteration of the game features improved loading times, enhanced graphics, access to all the available DLC expansions, and several mechanical additions like the ability to fish in lakes and rivers.

While The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may continue to engage fans the world over, many are beginning to question when they can expect to play the next mainline entry in the series. Following its announcement in 2018, there’s been little word on the development of The Elder Scrolls VI. Back in June 2023, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer noted that the game is still “far out,” speculating that he doesn’t even what platforms will be available by the time it’s ready. At the very least, that gives players some time to try and match (or surpass) Level 1337.
