Nicole Sherbiny from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way recently shared a cryptic statement after her husband, Mahmoud El Sherbiny, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence in Los Angeles. Nicole was traveling in Egypt when she bumped into Mahmoud in a fabric shop. The American native fell for Mahmoud’s big muscles and brown eyes, and the couple started dating. Eventually, Nicole married Mahmoud in Egypt in two ceremonies. However, after just two months of their wedding, Nicole wanted to return to the United States. The couple documented their issues in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4.

Mahmoud made it to the United States and is set to feature on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8 with Nicole. However, the latest reports suggest that he has been arrested for alleged domestic violence. While Mahmoud is behind bars, Nicole has reacted to the conundrum on her social media.

She shared an Instagram post to her Story, which read (via musawahmovement), “ending violence against women in Muslim families.” The original post was shared in November 2023 and shed light on how “violence against women is a global phenomenon that cuts across all cultures, religions, countries, and contexts.”

After watching Nicole and Mahmoud’s story unfold in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4, it was clear that their relationship wouldn’t survive. The couple had frequent arguments due to their different cultural and religious backgrounds. Mahmoud wanted Nicole to wear a hijab, while she wished to dress fashionably. The Los Angeles native felt unheard and unloved when her husband refused to respect her perspective and clothing preferences. Despite trying to leave Egypt several times, Nicole decided to work on her relationship with Mahmoud.

Finally, she welcomed him to the United States, hoping it would help save their marriage.

Nicole has made numerous sacrifices to make her marriage with Mahmoud work. As seen on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, she wore a hijab and tried to pray like a true Muslim. However, it didn’t seem like her husband ever recognized her efforts. Mahmoud showed no grace or kindness towards Nicole and often dismissed her perspective and beliefs. He wanted her to change completely by leaving her American lifestyle and adopting Islamic beliefs. However, Mahmoud did make a significant sacrifice by moving to America to work on their marital issues, leaving behind his home country and close-knit family.

Although Mahmoud may have made an effort to save his marriage, it appears his behavior towards his wife hasn’t improved much. Nicole’s latest Instagram Story didn’t mention Mahmoud, but it implied that she was involved in a physical altercation with him, which urged authorities to intervene. This won’t be the first time the couple has had an intense fight, as they were previously seen shoving each other in the streets of Egypt during the spin-off. The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way alum seems to have ended her relationship with Mahmoud since she is now speaking publicly about their issues.
