Cyberpunk 2077 offers players a chance to add a little romance to V’s life, with several NPCs available for a relationship. Just like in real life, the quality of these relationships can vary, with some being much more serious than others, but each has something unique to bring to the story. Over the course of the game, V can call their romantic partner to hang out – a newer change from the 2.1 update – or even come over to one of the apartments to have a little private time.

There are only five romantic partners available, one of whom is a very short-term prospect, and these options are narrowed even further depending on if V is of a masculine or feminine body type. The romance partners are unlocked while playing the game, with them being introduced in various parts of the main storyline. Each comes with a bit of a story to unlock more about them and build up a rapport with them if players choose well. The choice of a romantic partner can potentially affect the ending of the game in Cyberpunk 2077 and therefore, it is best not to be taken too lightly.

What Cyberpunk 2077’s Happiest Ending For V Really Is

Cyberpunk 2077’s varied story endings are bittersweet at best. There may be no “happily ever after” in Night City, but which ending is V’s happiest?

Meredith Stout, Non-Romantic Hookup

Available For Any Body Type Or Voice V

Cyberpunk 2077's Meredith crossing her arms and looking at the player with an annoyed expression.

Meredith Stout is available for a sexual relationship with V, so long as they have sided with Militech in “The Pickup” main job. After the job is complete, V can meet Meredith in a No-Tell Motel for one night of passion. As a bonus, if V checks the bed after the encounter, they’ll receive an iconic blunt weapon: a dildo called Sir John Phallustiff. This is the bottom-ranked Cyberpunk 2077 romance option because there isn’t any emotional component to it, and it’s just a one-off sexual encounter, but the iconic weapon does make up for it a little.

River Ward, NCPD Detective

Available For Female Body Type & Voice V

River Ward could have easily been made to be one of the most interesting romance options in the game, with the unique perspective of being an NCPD detective and a really good guy in a really dark world. After completing a series of interesting side jobs for River, he will invite V over for dinner and make a move, but only if V is of the feminine body and voice type.

Sadly, although River’s character has the chance of being a fantastic NPC, he ends up being a bit more of a one-dimensional character and his interest in V feels unnatural. After all, V is a merc who gets put into a lot of uncomfortable situations and River is a clean-cut, good guy. Even worse, River is the only romanceable character who has the possibility of permanently dying in Cyberpunk 2077.

Kerry Eurodyne, Musician

Available For Male Body Type & Voice V

Cyberpunk 2077's Kerry Eurodyne wearing sunglasses and standing on a balcony during the evening.

Kerry Eurodyne, Johnny Silverhand’s former band member, is available as a romance option for a V with a masculine voice and body type. V has to complete a series of side jobs for Johnny and Rogue before this option opens up, and Kerry doesn’t have much of an effect on the main storyline, which can feel like a letdown. What Kerry does have going for him, however, is that he is an attractive and successful rockerboy – a bit of Cyberpunk 2077 slang – as well as the only real romantic option available for a male V who prefers men.

Panam Palmer, Nomad & Merc

Available For Male Body Type & Voice V

The female Nomad, Panam Palmer, is romantically available to a V with a masculine body type. She’s involved in a lot of main storyline missions, and her questline can lead to V being accepted as part of the Aldecaldo clan. Panam’s romance is fulfilling and can have a fairly significant effect on the game’s ending, depending on the choices the player makes along the way. Panam’s character has a deep and well-thought-out backstory that can affect many things in the game, making her an interesting partner.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Judy and Panam are rivals for best romance. There are many qualities that recommend them both, but which is ultimately the best?

Judy Alvarez, Braindance Techie & Member Of The Mox

Available For Female Body Type & Voice V

Cyberpunk 2077 Judy Diving

Judy Alvarez is the quirky braindance expert that V meets before the disastrous mission to Arasaka tower in Act I, and she’s romanceable by a V with a feminine body type and voice. Judy is a featured character with an important role in many main jobs as well as having a series of side jobs that can lead to a romantic relationship. Judy is a complex and interesting character with a heartwarming story who can have a meaningful impact on the game’s ending, and a relationship with her feels emotionally rich.

Judy and Panam are both good romantic options in Cyberpunk 2077, so it can often come down to V’s gender to determine which to go for. They’re both well-developed female characters with interesting backstories and emotionally charged questlines that far exceed the other romantic side jobs. While it would be nice to have more true romance options in Cyberpunk 2077, Judy and Panam are both excellent choices to have by V’s side at the endgame.
