Superman: Legacy gets its official S-shield revealed for James Gunn’s DC Universe, while also getting a new title as filming is now underway.


To celebrate Superman’s canonical birthday, Gunn shared on Threads the official logo for the new Man of Steel, while also announcing that David Corenswet’s movie has now been retitled into Superman. Check out Gunn’s statement and logo reveal below:

Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday (!) When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025. Happy Birthday, Clark!
