Baldur’s Gate 3 may be filled with charismatic characters, but one that struck a chord with the fanbase was Karlach, a tiefling barbarian who joins the player after a mind flayer Nautiloid enters into the Nine Hells and liberates her from fighting the Blood War, a conflict within which she has been trapped for over a decade. Having been faced with the horrors of war for so long, she enjoys life’s simpler pleasures and has gained a reputation for being one of the game’s most upbeat characters, despite her tendency to fly into a rage. She’s also incredibly efficient in combat, with her Rage ability allowing Karlach to soak up and dish out damage in equal measure.
