Since he made his debut in 1998 with the highly-rated conceptual psychological thriller Pi, much of Darren Aronofsky’s filmography has generally been provocative and polarizing and Noah wasn’t any different. Even though the biblical drama was well received by most critics, who praised the movie’s sweeping visuals and particularly the cast’s excellent performances, audiences gave the movie a less favorable review.

While Aronofsky’s Noah boasts a fairly impressive 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the audience score was a lot less impressive, with only 41%. There are several reasons why many who tuned in to watch Noah weren’t impressed with Aronofsky’s adaptation. However, one of the major reasons is the changes Aronofsky made to the original Noah story.
